MY TOP 10 MAKEUP TIPS FOR GLASSES

Hey guys! Today I have some tips for my gals that wear glasses. I was not born with great eyesight, so I wear contacts everyday. But there are a lot days that I just want to wear my glasses. (I'm sorry my frames are so old, I don't know where they are from, but my favorite brand I've been crushing on is Warby Parker. They're pretty affordable and give back to an amazing cause!) When I wear glasses, there are a few tweaks I make to my makeup, and they're actually super simple. Here's my top 10 makeup tips for glasses:

1. Let Your Frames Do the Talking
When your wearing glasses, the frames already bring attention to your eyes so you don't need as much eye makeup! That being said, you don't have to skip dramatic eye makeup either. It just takes less makeup to draw attention to your eyes! So save your self some time and maybe throw on a bold lip!

2. Brows Are Still Just as Important!
Your glasses frame your eyes, but your eyebrows frame your glasses. Make sure your brows are defined and neat! I like to use my Kevyn Aucoin precision brow pencil for definition, and set them in place with my NARS tinted brow gel.

3. Match Your Eye-Makeup Drama to the Size of the Frames
The bigger the frame, the more room you have to work with! If you have big frames, try a smokey eye.  The Jouer shadow crayons make a super simple & quick smokey eye. If your frames are smaller, sometimes keeping it simple will be more flattering.

4. Avoid Losing Your Foundation on the Sides of Your Nose
Start with a primer to keep your foundation from slipping. Finish with powder around your nose to keep your frames from rubbing off all your foundation! Trust me, I've been there - taking off your glasses and you have to big spots on the sides of your nose. Not the best look. lol

5. No Falsies
Fake lashes will just be too long and hit the front of your frames. If you want your lashes to pop just add an extra coat of mascara.

6. Bold Lips = Instant Chic
I love the look of just mascara, glasses, and a killer bold lip. Try a red, pink, or dark plum to have an instant pulled together look. I love this look when I want to wear my glasses to work, but still look professional and trendy. Shop some bold lips here!

7. Tired AF? Glasses are your BFF.
Whenever I'm super tired or my eyes just don't feel like a lot makeup, glasses can instantly distract from the tired eye look.

8. Highlight those Cheekbones!
Usually the frame of the glasses will hit right above the cheekbone. Help them stand out by highlighting them. I recommend using a powder instead of a cream, incase your glasses slide around. (powder usually lasts better than cream.) I love the Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfecters.

9. Blush Placement is Key.
Too much blush in the wrong spot while wearing glasses can look kinda odd. Just like with eye makeup, it depends on the size of your frames. My frames are really large so I keep my blush a little lower on the apple and the blended up and back, avoiding the tips of the frame. If you have smaller lenses, you can keep the blush a little higher.

10. Don't Overthink the "Rules"
Lastly, when it comes to makeup, sometimes the rules are meant to be broken. So take my tips, and tweak them to your own style! Go have fun and try something new!

I hope this was helpful for you guys, and showed you that you can still look put together with your glasses on! Let me know if you try out any of these tips!
XoXo,
Steph
